Teotihuacan
Teotihuacan remains a site of intrigue and significance, making it a worthwhile destination for cultural exploration and historical understanding. Nestled in the Basin of Mexico, this pre-Columbian metropolis is often overshadowed by more widely known civilizations such as the Maya and Aztec.
I suggest to ask your Uber driver to drop you off at entrance 5 (TIP: ask your Uber driver how much they will charge if they wait for you for the day and decide if you’d like to secure your ride back to the City). This entrance will take you closer to the museum entrance. Once you finish the Museum, you can wander to see the Pyramid of the Sun and the moon. You can no longer climb the Pyramid of Moon and Sun, but if you’d like to climb a pyramid-they have Temple of Quetzalcóatl which you can climb!
Do a solo or guided tour. I enjoyed both. However, If you like to hear what the pyramids are all about with access to a magical cave where you can access with an approved guide, I highly recommend you get
WhatsApp and contact: Nancy +52 55 7721 7081.
Nancy knows what she is talking about and you get to do the tour in ATV/Quad Bikes (It was maybe 80-100.00 dollars total for the 4 of us but, so worth it)! I get no money from you booking, like I said a self guided tour works just fine! Another option is to do the Hot Air ballon rides to view the Pyramids. I bet it is beautiful, but I didn’t want to wake up that early so let me know how it is! There are several companies, here is one I found: https://www.skyballoons.mx/flights/all-included-hot-air-balloon-ride
Lastly, you have to end the day at La Gruta restaurant. Reservations are recommended if not possibly required. You get to eat traditional Native food such as Escamoles al Epazote “Mexican Caviar” and Consomé de Carnero. They seemed to close early, so don’t start your day too late!

Puebla
This colonial city is famed for its cuisine and pottery. Visit historic centers, try local dishes like their mole (a rich chocolate-based sauce), check out their pottery and browse art galleries. Puebla’s only about two hours (80 miles) southeast of Mexico City.

For relaxation, head to these natural hot springs to take a rejuvenating soak in warm water while taking in stunning views —a lovely way to relax and get away from the busy city! This is 4 Hours away from Mexico City, so I suggest finding a place to stay for a night or two.

Xochimilco
Visiting Xochimilco is an immersive and enchanting experience that showcases the rich historical, cultural, and gastronomical heritage of the “land of flowers.” As emphasized by “Xochimilquenses de Corazón,” each visit to Xochimilco Mágico promises not just beautiful landscapes but also a warm welcome from locals who are deeply rooted in their vibrant traditions.
The allure of Xochimilco lies in its tranquil chinampa zones and the magical tourist areas where visitors can revel in traditional boat rides on colorful trajineras along ancient waterways. These boat rides provide not only scenic views but also a chance to enjoy local delicacies prepared with fresh, high-quality ingredients intended to delight every palate. Your guide will let you know what food vendors they recommend.
There are several packages and companies that run from a 20 min ride to 5 hour tours all the way to the Island of the Dolls. The “Isla de las Muñecas” is a super creepy and fun destination. I do recommend that you prebook your Trajinera and do not let the people in the street steer you away from the main entrance. There are people on their motorcycles 3-8 blocks before the entrance telling you to go to a different port, because the main port is closed. Do not believe them, they just want to take you to a higher priced port. Trajineras “boat tours” range in price depending on how much time you reserve the boat. I would say average 80-125.00 Dollars. You can take your own food and drinks on the boat, but I say try the locals food. The people from this town will have their service boats with food, drinks and even a choice of live music to hop on your boat to enjoy. You can also rent speakers or bring your own.
Furthermore, the captivating stories and legends shared by the locals weave a narrative that enriches the visitor’s understanding of this historically significant area. Moreover, the intoxicating aroma of flowers cultivated in Xochimilco adds another sensory dimension to your visit, making it truly unforgettable. This combination of natural beauty, culinary delights, and cultural immersion creates a unique festive atmosphere that leaves visitors feeling as if they have experienced a celebration unlike any other (Xochimilquenses de Corazón).

Tepoztlán
Tepoztlán, a magical town in the mountains of Morelos, Mexico, offers captivating experiences for visitors. One of the main attractions is the mystical Tepozteco Pyramid, which requires a challenging yet rewarding hike. Travelers are treated to panoramic views of the landscape and an ancient Aztec site. The town is imbued with vibrant culture and tradition, bustling markets, and unique architecture, providing a picturesque backdrop for leisurely strolls. Local festivals, particularly Carnival, offer immersive cultural experiences. Moreover, Tepoztlán’s tranquil atmosphere makes it an ideal retreat for relaxation and spiritual renewal. I recommend at least 2-3 days here.
